BUILDINGS & FACILITIES
Heat pumps supported by thermal batteries are being used more and more to support district heating and cooling powered by renewable energy. They are also identified as key technologies for decarbonising public facilities such as aquatic centres.
For district heating and cooling, heat pumps in combination with storage systems present a way to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, utilise on-site renewable generation and dispatch to help stabilise the grid.
